PROPOSED YEAR 7 RESIDENTIAL VISITS FOR 2017 During the final week of the summer term, we would like to take the whole of year 7 on an overnight adventure to Tile Barn in the New Forest where the students will sleep in tents and try out a range of outdoor activities such as low ropes, climbing and the tricky crate challenge over the 2 days! The ever popular Paris trip is once again available to all of year 7 with the aim of immersing our students in a new culture, food and language whilst enjoying a visit to one of the world’s most beautiful cities, taking in the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe and a full day at EuroDisney, all of which will mean a lot of walking!
In line with Government guidance all Year 9 students will, as part of their studies, have basic sex education focusing on responsibility issues and the development of positive attitudes to relationships.
As part of the careers education programme and to help with the transition process from Year 9 to Year 10 we are planning a ‘Go To Work With An Adult Day’ (parent, family member or friend) on Thursday, 7th December.
At USH we know that work experience provides an invaluable insight into life after school and informs future choices. Recruitment specialist, Reed Executive, report that almost three quarters of the UK’s top businesses prefer to recruit people with work experience on their CV.
I am writing to inform you of the key dates that are coming up this year for your son or daughter. The table below indicates when we will have our parent’s evenings, when any exams take place (PPE’s: Pre Public Examinations) as well as support we are putting in place for students and parents.
