PTFA

Our PTFA has made a big difference to our school - for instance, we have raised thousands of pounds over the last few years and funded (to name just a few), the following areas:-

• Duke of Edinburgh Award (which receives no government funding) - tents and equipment
• Books and magazine subscriptions for the Library
• Extra art and textile equipment
• Equipment for the PE department and their team kits

So we do really make a difference.

Finally being involved is very rewarding.

The PTFA is just one of the partnerships within the school and as you will have seen over the past few months, Upper Shirley High is moving forward with lots of positive changes and wishes to enhance the parent partnership. We want to involve parents more, asking your opinions of what works and what doesn’t and we feel this can be achieved through building on the work through the PTFA.
