Proposed USH Expansion

USH has three main feeder schools from within the Jefferys Education Partnership (Hollybrook Junior, Shirley Junior and Wordsworth Primary). We were delighted to see the first cohort of Wordsworth students join us in September 2017.

In preparation for the additional students from Wordsworth Primary School over the coming years, our multi-million pound expansion has begun.

Planning was granted for our new eight-classroom block on 20thJune 2017 and building work started in November 2017; we anticipate a summer finish in June 2018.

Whilst we are still finalising the use of the new block we know it will include:

·  Two new DT/technology classrooms

·  A new Library

·  A new IT room

In addition to the above, our expansion includes the following projects:

·  Two new science laboratories (completed summer 2017)

·  New IT suite (completed summer 2017)

·  Additional staff parking (to be completed by summer of 2018)

·  An additional catering servery

·  Upgrade of our wireless system

It is an exciting time for Upper Shirley High School; please follow our expansion through our social media updates.

If there are any queries about our expansion, they should be directed to the School Business Manager, Julie Prince (Julie.Prince@ushschool.org)

A meeting was held on Thursday 17th November 2016 and the Leadership and Governors of Upper Shirley High School would like to thank all those who attended.  Please see the PDF documents on this page for the latest updates on the proposed expansion.
