SIMS Learning Gateway (SLG)

January 2019

We are currently moving away from SIMS Learning Gateway and will be using a new system called EduLink One moving forward. Please find more information on the EduLink One page.

SIMS Learning Gateway is an information system to enable parents to access real-time information about their child which uses the information held in SIMS, the school’s main database.

The main benefits are:

  • It will give access to a range of information, including assessment grades, behaviour points, student reports, timetables and attendance details.
  • The system is easy to use and most of the data is displayed visually in tables and graphs.
  • The system is compatible with tablets and smartphones.
  • Parents’ personal and contact details can be updated online.

Security and access:

  • Only parents with ‘parental responsibility’ for a child are entitled to use SIMS Learning Gateway.
  • Access to this system is restricted to parents and authorised staff, and you will only be able to see data for your child.
  • All data is managed by the school and is held securely within USH; sensible measures have been taken to safeguard this information.
  • When you connect to SLG, data is transmitted across the Internet securely using security encryption.
  • You will be able to change your password at any time to maintain the security of your account.

If you wish to access this service we need you to read our Acceptable Use Policy for SIMS Learning Gateway and then print, complete and return the Acceptable Use Policy slip; this confirms your acceptance of this policy. Upon receipt of your signed reply slip we will issue you with a secure username and password; these will be the same if you have more than one child at USH. Please also refer to the further guidance form on how to use this new system.

If you have any queries about this system please contact SLG@ushschool.org
